The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

Services Offered

Fort Jackson Branch is responsible for veterinary support in food safety and animal care to Fort Jackson and Shaw AFB communities.

SERVICES PROVIDED FOR PETS: (Fees are charged for pet care)

  • Health Certificates for CONUS and OCONUS travel
  • Immunizations for dogs and cats
  • Parasite testing and treatment
  • Outpatient sick call on a limited basis as time permits
  • Flea/tick control, heartworm prevention, and other medications as prescribed by our veterinarians
  • Microchips – animals in post housing require microchips. Recommended for all other pets.
